The series
So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. — Ezekiel 33:7
The Watchmen is a series about a handful of former special operations soldiers who go where no one else can go, for people no one else will reach — missionary families taken hostage, the trafficked, the abandoned, the hunted.
They are as capable as men get. They are also, to a man, carrying something they can’t put down. The series is about both facts at once, and about the particular kind of courage it takes for someone who has always been the solution to admit he isn’t.
The name is not a brand. It’s an assignment, and it comes with a duty attached — which the first book spends its whole length walking toward without ever quite saying out loud.
A daughter with no options, a father who refused to be protected, and a man who had already put the work down. The mission that founds everything.
Status: first draft complete, in revision. The opening chapters are readable here now.
In progress.
Book One gathers these men. It does not finish healing any of them — that was deliberate. What one of them believes God promised him is not what God promised him, and he has built his whole life around the misunderstanding. That is the engine of the next book.
More when there’s more to say.
One email when the book is done and there's somewhere to get it. One when the next one is coming. Nothing else, ever.
